On Monday 14th August several hundred Sierra Leoneans died following horrific landslides and torrential rainfall. Thousands more have been left with nothing, and rescuers suspect that there are hundreds more bodies buried in the mud.
Our teams are on the ground providing support to those impacted by the devastating flooding and mudslides. We have already provided almost 100,000 emergency food packages, including clean water, and given out 5,000 clothing packages.
We have now moved on to stages two and three of our relief efforts, which is to replace lost livelihoods and rebuild schools as quickly as possible, with the knowledge that the longer children are out of school, the less likely they are ever to go back.
Donations will go towards providing emergency relief and long-term recovery support. Your donation will be spent as quickly as possible supporting our excellent social and livelihood teams in Sierra Leone. Please give what you can.
