It's been 42 days since the last known Ebola patient in Liberia was buried, and so the country has been declared Ebola free by the World Health Organization. This is testament to the huge amount of work put into combating the virus by the Liberian government and people, as well as many international aid workers.
The crisis is by no means over, however, and it is important that the international community does not abandon the country in the misguided belief that the crisis is now over; there could be as many as 10,000 orphans across the country, left destitute and homeless. Help is needed to feed, clothe, and house these children, and help their new caregivers create economic sustainability for themselves by offering them access to income generation opportunities. Click here to help us ensure that these children do not miss out on an education.
