During Ebola many girls lost their entire family and completely dropped out of school because they didn’t have anyone to support them with their fees. When we were talking to them we were asking them if they wanted to go back to school. Some of them said “yes, but we don’t have the support.”

I was supporting a girl who was going to school but she lost her mother because of Ebola and her father wasn’t able to encourage her. So she lost the will to return to school. But we spoke about the importance of education, about her hopes for the future and how, through going to school, she could gain the potential to realise her dreams.

Through our support she decided to return and now she is doing well.
